ademe aims to provide attention and needs assessment, as well as comprehensive mediation between the administration and its sources of resources and the rroma population living in situations of social exclusion, marginalisation and poverty. to this end, ademe will implement a strategic office for effective attention and mediation that improves the channelling of resources, the response to the needs affecting vulnerable people and, above all, safeguards their dignity, as they are often victims of systemic neglect and of the recurring failures that arise when dealing with rroma populations. for la fragua projects and for its ademe programme, mediation seeks to be a useful instrument at the service of departments and public servants who require roma teams with a high level of professionalism and strong reach within grassroots roma communities.

ademe (attention, detection and mediation), under these initials, designates the office for comprehensive attention and effective mediation for roma people experiencing severe social exclusion, which in many cases is neglected even by the administration itself. in most cases, serious incidents arise due to lack of awareness, firstly on the part of the citizen — in this case, the sensitive and vulnerable party (who experiences double victimisation or secondary victimisation) — who also lacks social skills and is in a situation of acute need that prevents them from requesting the help they require in appropriate terms; and secondly, and even more seriously, due to the lack of awareness and social skills among administrative staff — whether in social services, state security forces, education, medical or healthcare staff — needed to engage with these extremely vulnerable groups. there is a need for individuals who have the appropriate training, as well as the empathy and skills required to provide support, identify problems and mediate effectively and efficiently.
